Marie Baker

Marie Joy Baker was 71 yrs old and resided in Port Orchard, WA. She was born on September 13th, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Patricia and Carmello Scortino who have both preceded her in death, as did her grandson Jeremy,  great grandson Shane, brother Tim & sister Mary.  She went to South Kitsap High School and graduated from Bremerton Business College with a degree in accounting. Marie had a career that varied from working in the medical field for KPS, ophthalmologist, and psychiatrists. She also had her own accounting business, managed the VFW in Bremerton, wrote bail bonds, and was a bounty hunter. Her favorite job was working for KRC with the senior job placement program for which she received accommodations and awards for her accomplishments. During her lifetime she became a master of darts, enjoyed motorcycle riding, horseback riding, driving in destruction derbies, and she loved her family and pets. She was a member of the Kitsap saddle club, a recreational motorcycle club, and played in the Kitsap dart league.  She is survived by her daughters and their spouses Barbara Brown, Laurie and Peter Williams, Cynthia and James Kershaw, and Julie Brown all of the local area. She is survived by her brothers and sisters  Pattie, Georgie, David, Terry, Pamela, Jackie, Donald, Terry, & Tony.  She is survived by 6 grandchildren; Angie, Amber, Jeffrey, Austin, Deanndra, and Aaron all of the area and 9 great grandchildren. Marie Baker passed away on September 9th, 2010 in Bremerton, WA. Her services will be held at Rill Chapel 1151 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, WA at 1:30 pm on Thursday September 16th, 2010. Visitations will be on the day of the services. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
