Marie Ann Doughty was born in Shell Lake, Wisconsin on April 10, 1944. She lived in Spooner, Wisconsin until she joined the Navy. At 18, Marie enlisted and served in the Navy for 2 years before she received an honorable discharge for having her first-born child.
Marie worked as an Occupational Therapist Assistant and helped so many children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. She worked most of her career at Retsil in Port Orchard.
Marie enjoyed traveling the world in the Navy, attending Rodeos, gold panning and skeet shooting. She mostly loved spending time with her family and friends. She adored her grandkids and great-grandkids. Marie was also a member of the TOPS Group and Grama’s Group. She loved her Fur Babies.
Marie was preceded in death by her father, Willis Cunningham and mothers, Wanda Cunningham and Ann Cunningham, her first husband Joseph West and second husband Jim Doughty. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda West-Hamilton (Jeff), son Joseph West Jr. (Tricia), stepdaughter Kasey Stingle (Rick), sister Rena Bentley, brother Brian Cunningham, grandkids Dustin Hamilton, Charlene Beale, Cameron West, Jacob West, Tara Johnson, Heidi Stingle, Hollie Stingle and 4 great-grandkids.
Marie kept in touch with people she has known throughout her life and still sent Birthday cards to everyone. She would do anything for anyone. She is so loved and will be deeply missed.
