Marie Maynard died of a lengthy illness August 3, 2003 with family present at her Bremerton, Washington home. She was 83.She was born August 8, 1919 in Stevensville, Montana to Percy and Bessie (Swigert) Manning.She married Don Maynard in Seattle, Washington.Marie worked several years at Bremers Department Store, then moved to Southern California; and, she and her husband ran a golf driving range in Fountain Valley. Later, they established the Amateur Bowlers Tour in the Northwest. They retired from the Tour in 1985.She enjoyed golf, bowling and trips to Reno with family members.She is survived by sons - Jim Maynard of Port Angeles, Washington, Richard Maynard of Poulsbo, Washington, Bob Maynard of Kirkland, Washington; daughters - Donna Heath of Bremerton, Washington, Jan Olson of Allyn, Washington, Joy Zegstroo of Poulsbo, Washington; brother - Percy Manning of Missoula, Montana; sisters - Ida Holden of Missoula, Montana and Lois Ray of Missoula, Montana; 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.A private family committal will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.Memorial Donations may be made to:Hospice of Kitsap CountyP.O.
