Marie Olszewski

Marie Beatrice (Poissant) Olszewski, beloved wife, sister, mother, and great grandmother passed away May 9, 2012 just after her 99th birthday. One of eight children, Marie was born on April 15, 1913 to Joseph and Angeline (St. George) Poissant in Duluth, Minnesota. Married in 1938 to Edward Olszewski, they raised two sons, David and Michael. They moved to Port Orchard, Washington in 1945 where she was a member of the Saint Gabriel’s Catholic Church. She held positions with the Callison Company and McGavin’s Bakery. Her husband Ed passed away in 1973. Marie’s true passions were flowers, gardening, Yorkie terriers, and spending time with family at their Mission Lake cabin.  Marie is survived by her sons David (and Pam) Olszewski and Michael Olszewski; daughters-in-law Diane Beers and Paulette Colebank; grandchildren Todd Olszewski, Glenn Olszewski, Brett (and Nicole) Olszewski and their children, Clifford (and Lisa) Olszewski and their son, Karla (and Cody) Carter and their children, Lauren (and Charlie) Moore and their daughter, Scott Baker and his sons, Gavin Baker, Stephanie (and Bob) Smith and their children; and many wonderful Poissant and Novack family nephews and nieces. Marie’s final resting place is alongside her beloved husband Edward at Sunset Lane Cemetery. The family held a private service and church mass in her honor. A Celebration of Marie's Life will take place at the home of Michael Olszewski at a later date.
