Marion Berling Halbig, 101, of Port Orchard, Washington died April 12, 2007 in Silverton, Oregon. Mrs. Halbig was born on July 14, 1905 in Port Orchard to John & Anna (Eriksson) Berling. Marion graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1923 and went on to attend the University of Washington, University of Alabama, and Idaho State University. Mrs. Halbig worked in the Comptroller Department at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington as an Administrative Superintendent. She was a member of First Christian Church, P.E.O Sisterhood, Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, American Guild of Organists, Sons of Norway, Ann Wilson Guild, NARFE, American Association of Retired Persons, South Kitsap Active Senior Citizens Club and the University of Washington Alumni Association. Marion was preceded in death by two husbands, Curtis Macomber (1949) and Virgil Halbig (1978); brothers Albin & Charles Berling; sister Charlotte Mailman; and nephew Jerry Berling. Surviving are daughter Mariel Martin of Silverton, Oregon; grandsons Richard Januzzi of Lincoln City, Oregon and Jay Januzzi of Silverton, Oregon; and nephew Jack Berling of Tacoma, Washington. Funeral service at 1:00pm on April 18, 2007 at First Christian Church in Port Orchard followed by interment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Wednesday, April 18th. Memorial donations may be made to the Womens Fellowship at First Christian Church in Port Orchard.
