Marjorie Kelley

March 11, 1927 — May 6, 2010

Marjorie Flood Logue Kelley, 83, was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on March 11, 1927, the second of two daughters of Harold Lester and Evelyn (Flood) Logue. She left this life on May 6, 20l0, in Bremerton, WA.   Her mother drove herself and daughters across country to Los Angeles in 1935. Marjorie graduated from Los Angeles High School, Los Angeles City College, and Woodbury Business College.  Most of the time while in Los Angeles, she was an active member of Wilshire Christian Church.  On June 15, 1951 she and Howard Edward Kelley were married in Glendale, CA, a union that lasted just short of 59 years. Her first employment was as a bank teller L. A.  Subsequently she held several executive-level support positions that allowed her to use not only the skills she had learned and developed but both the strength and gentleness of character and personality that were her natural gifts.  She was a talented Bridge player, a voracious reader, and a captive of cross-word puzzles!  She was a both a member and a leader in Chapman’s Town and Gown, the Assistance League of Orange, and the Crystal Cathedral Congregation. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Patrick Nathan (Susan) Kelley of Port Orchard, WA; Stephen James (Mary) Kelley of Nashua, NH; daughters Janet Lynn Kelley, of Waterbury, CT; Holly Anne Kelley (Joseph) Hagler, of Villa Park, CA; sister Betty Logue (Eliot) Wegener, of Paradise, CA; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a niece and 2 nephews. Memorial Service at 3:30pm, Friday, May 28, 2010 at Chapman University, Fish Memorial Chapel in Orange, CA. Memorial donations to Chapman University.  There is no way to describe the positive effects of her life and love on those around her, nor of the love she received in return. Her children and husband say “she was one of God’s very special persons!”
