Marjorie Ester (McCready) Pilotte of Bremerton, Washington died due to natural causes on May 4, 2006 at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton. She was 78. She was born June 23, 1927 in Olympia, Washington to Chester and Bertha (Bridges) McCready. They resided in Port Orchard, Washington. She graduated from Bremerton High School in Bremerton, Washington in 1945; and, attended Olympic College in Bremerton, Washington in 1983. Marjorie was a broiler chef, prepared banquets, was head cook, too, and manager for 45 years in Washington, California and Hawaii. She retired in 1986. She prepared delicious meals, taught others the art of perfection. She was a member of: American Legion Post 149 Bremerton, Washington Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Fleet Reserve Auxiliary; volunteered at Veterans of Foreign Wars of West Bremerton for special events; was honored for selling the most poppy flowers; W/A Plaque volunteering to serve at Bingo with food specials; also, served as Sergeant of Arms post for American Legion Post 149 Bremerton; Bremerton Symphony, 3rd string violin for a season. She enjoyed driving her 3/4 ton GMC truck, under her 10 1/2 foot camper for a friend's camping trip to Twin Lakes. She also enjoyed family get-togethers, playing "Darts" winning many plaques, pins and even a few state championship trophies, continuing well into her 60's with the "Nifty Fifties Teams, ceramics, most of all "Mystery" her cat! Marjorie is survived by sons James (Cecelia) McCready of Port Orchard, Washington, Leonard (T.J) McCready of Port Orchard, Washington; daughters - Donna Alaxandra of Stanwood, Washington, Julie A. Hester of Port Orchard, Washington and Jackie L. Baker of Bremerton, Washington; grandchildren Tim Hester, Kellie, Heather, Amanda, Erin, Amy, Jamie, Matthew, Michael, & Shawn McCready, and Breanna Baker; 4 great-grandchildren (1 great-grandson and 3 great-granddaughters); niece, Susan (Silas) and Mark Stadshaug with great niece, Amy Stadshaug. She was preceded in death by sister Lola (McCready) Silas and her husband Stan Silas. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Life Center in Port Orchard, Washington. Memorial donations may be made to Harbor View Medical Center, or Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington.
