Marla Dawn (Halvorson) Lillybridge, age 57, passed away at home on May 20, 2016 with loved ones present, following a 2 ½ year battle against triple negative breast cancer. Marla was born November 25, 1958, in Bremerton, WA to Manley and Delores Halvorson. She lived in Port Orchard, WA all her life and attended South Kitsap schools, graduating in 1977 from South Kitsap High School. She was involved in school activities including drill team and sang in the Highlighters choir group during her years in high school. She attended Olympic college graduating in 1980 with an Associate’s degree in business.
On Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1981 she married her high school sweetheart Mark Lillybridge. They were blessed with 35 years of marriage and two wonderful sons, Jeff and Justin.
Marla loved being a wife and mom. She liked to read, crochet baby blankets and attend car shows with her husband and friends. She enjoyed all the activities the boys were involved with growing up, baseball, basketball, and was a soccer mom/coach.
She worked as a cashier at Olympic college, a car title clerk for many years, was a business owner, and a consultant for various direct sales businesses.
She was preceded in death by her son Jeff, her father, and father-in-law Jim Lillybridge. She is survived by her husband, son Justin, mother, sisters Debbie (John) Austin and Mona (Ken) Brewer, brother Daryl (Anita) Halvorson, Mother-in-law Marilyn Lillybridge, Sister-in-law Vickie (Merl) Reed, brother-in-law Jimmy Lillybridge, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, many other relatives and very special friends. She loved them all and was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by many.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers, love and support during Marla’s life’s journey. A special thank you to our niece Rebecca, and to Gwen, Kim, Shelly and Louise for your endless hours helping us care for Marla during her last weeks.
Services will be held May 31, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Rill Chapel’s Life Tribute Center, 1151 Mitchell Ave, Port Orchard, WA 98366 with interment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park next to her son Jeff. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society for a cure for triple-negative breast cancer.
