Marlene was born in 1937 to Clarence and Alta Barnes in Indiana. She grew up on a farm in Olalla and graduated SKHS in 1955. Her family included brothers Ray and Dale, sisters Rita, Ruthie and Thea.
In 1958 she married the love of her life-Jerry Reynolds and her adventure began! They camped, fished and later spent many years racing cars. She raised 3 daughters-Jalynn (Calvani) Sue (Dahl) and Cindy (Friend).
She had written:
"Jesus and Family are always my top priority! I love the beauty the Lord provides in my natural surroundings and am thankful for the sense of humor and fullness of life He brings"
Her life was full of joy she spread everywhere she went. She loved to laugh and make others laugh with her funny skits. She enjoyed being an entertainer, bringing humor and silliness to her friends, church, co-workers etc.
She really loved people and devoted her life to sharing and showing the love and mercy of Christ to all she met.
She worked at Pacific Northwest Bell, Olympic College then Group Health as a telephone operator. One of her favorite things she did was teach office, phone and etiquette at Olympic College! She would always say "put a smile in your voice girls.."
She was an artist, her work consisted of multiple paintings and chalk pastels.She did alot of art for friends.
She loved animals, especially her cats, dog and HORSES!
Her heart was full of love for her grandson Brian Delong and later overflowed with love for her great grand daughter Isabella. They spent many hours playing dolls, painting and 'dressing up'.
She adored all her grandchildren : Micah Friend, Kyla, Alexa and Kody Dahl. Each one had a special place in her heart and she let them know!
Her greatest wish was that everyone knew her Jesus and she would see them all in Heaven.
