Martha Adams

Martha Alice Adams, age 91, died Nov. 3, 1999 in Port Orchard, WA.  She was born January 24, 1908 in Satsop, WA to W.H. & Emma (Goddell) Norman, and she was raised in Oakville, WA.  She graduated from Oakville High School in 1926.  She married James L. Adams on October 19, 1926 in Chehalis, WA.  Her most recent job was as a secretary to the principal at Orchard Heights Elementary School in Port Orchard, WA.  She worked there for 22 years before retiring in 1968.  She was a member of the Colby United Methodist Church; Mystic Rebeka Lodge #168 since 1937; Harper study club for 20 years; NARFE and AARP; and a longtime member of the Business Professional Women in Port Orchard.  She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Folden of Gladstone, OR., brother Orval Norman of Harrisburg, OR., sister Hazel Bergh of Olympia, WA., grandchildren Marta Torresan of Port Orchard, WA., Eric Folden of Vancouver, WA., and 4 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by son Norman Adams in 1977, and husband James Adams in 1992.  Memorial Services will be held at the Colby United Methodist Church in Port Orchard, WA., Monday, November 8, 1999 at 11:00 a.m.  Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to the Colby United Methodist Church, 2881 Harvey St.SE., Port Orchard, WA., 98366.
