Martin ''Bud'' Hentila, age 80, died July 16, 2000 in Bremerton, Washington. He was born on December 3, 1919 in Seattle, Washington to Victor & Selma (Mustenen) Hentila. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard in 1938 and from the Mechanical Engineering Apprentice Program at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton in 1938. Bud married Viola Schulpe in Silverdale, Washington on July 3, 1942. Mr. Hentila was employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 30 years before retiring in 1973. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1945 as a Machinist Mate. He was a member of the Port Orchard Eagles. Mr. Hentila is survived by his wife Viola of Port Orchard; daughter Arlene Hoyer of Bremerton; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.Graveside services will be held at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard on July 21, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
