Mr. Martin Turcina, Age: 83, long time resident of San Francisco, California died on February 1, 2002 in Port Orchard, Washington.Martin was born on November 21, 1918 in Bellaire, Ohio, to Martin and Magdalana(Maravicek) Turcina.On September 8, 1943, he married Eva Marie Durst.He served in the United States Navy during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Brazon of Bremerton, Washington. He spent his tour during the war in the Pacific arena. He was a Gunners Mate, and was honorably discharged in September of 1945.Martin spent much of his life as a Furrier in the San Francisco area. He later spent fifteen years as a Cabinet Maker with Met Life Insurance Company, until his retirement.Martin was a member of S.I.R.S.(Sons in Retirement).He is survived by his wife, Eva Marie, of their most recent home in Lakebay, Washington; daughter, Nancy Becker of College Station, Texas; daughter, Peggy Marilyn Hamann of Lake Bay; sister, Eleanor Hnilo of Colma, California; sister, Anna Mattox of Pataluma, California; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Turcina.Currently, no funeral services are planned.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory in Port Orchard, Washington.
