Marvin Jay Moore, 91, a long-time resident of Port Orchard, WA passed away peacefully at his home on March 19, 2012. Marvin was born in Squirrel, ID on July 6th 1920. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a WWII veteran. Marvin married his beautiful bride Marjorie N. Elliott in April 1943 and they were inseparable for 55 years, until Marjorie passed in 1998. Marvin retired from 37 years of Civil Service at the Naval Submarine Base Bangor. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling and spending his winters in Arizona. Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marjorie Noreen Moore; his son Ronald; brothers, Everett, Dale, Jim, and Swede. He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Brown, Port Orchard, WA; sisters Hilda (Kenneth) Figgins, Lynwood WA and Phyllis (Ralph) Wilson, Weiser ID; four grandchildren, Sutton & Drew Moore, Amanda Smith and Nick Brown. Marvin was blessed with five great grandchildren as well. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11AM, Saturday March 24, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard with burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard. The family would like to thank Hospice of Kitsap County for the wonderful care they provided Marvin in his last days.
