Marvin Edward Welch of Port Orchard January 7, 1930 to December 20, 2015
Beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle & friend passed away at home on December 20. Born in South Dakota in 1930 to Timothy & Myrtle Welch, he moved with his family to the Pacific Northwest in the 1940’s. He spent his youth in Tacoma where he attended school. On June 12, 1959 he married Bertha Lebo and they settled in Port Orchard where they raised their family. Marvin served in the Army & later worked as a pipefitter for Todd Shipyard in Seattle. He enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, going to the casino, watching the Seahawks, and, above all else, spending time with his family. He is survived by sons James of Houston, TX, Michael, & Arthur (Francine) Welch of Port Orchard, & daughters Laurie (Eric) Andersen of Tahuya, Kellie Morgan of Port Orchard, & Ann (Jim) Welch of Roy along with 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, & sister Mickey (Bob) Sampson of Oregon. A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard at 1:00 on Thursday, December 31. Donations may be made In lieu of flowers to the South Kitsap Helpline.
