Mary Freden, 68 of Port Orchard, Washington died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on February 14, 2006. She was born on March 19, 1937 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Arnold F. & Inez (Russell) Malzahn. She graduated from Chaska High School in Chaska, Minnesota. Mary married Calvin "Cal" Freden in East Union, Minnesota on May 26, 1956. Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed raising money for missions, and sewing & needle point projects for children in Romania. Mary loved her Lord, her family, her church family and many friends. She attended Christian Life Center in Port Orchard. Surviving are her husband Cal of the family home in Port Orchard; son Bradley (Susan) Freden of Everett, Washington; daughters Shelley (Dwight) Pauls of Auburn, Washington and Karlyn Devereaux of Burien, Washington; brothers Ray, Michael, Richard & John Malzahn; sisters Annette Gjesdahl and Sally Beck; and grandchildren Matthew Freden-Norman, Kirsten & Landon Freden, Gabe Norman, Laura & Aaron Pauls. Visitation will be on Friday, February 17, 2006 from Noon to 5:00 pm and Saturday, February 18, 2006 from 9:00 am to Noon, at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Funeral Service will be at Christian Life Center in Port Orchard on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 2:00 pm with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 11:30am at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to World Outreach Ministry, P.O. Box 23267, Federal Way, WA 98093.
