Mary Gastineau

August 20, 1921 — September 8, 1999

Mary Elizabeth Gastineau, age 78, died Sept. 9, 1999 in Bremerton, WA.  She was born August 20, 1921 in Quincy, Illinois to Walter and Catherine Kelker and was raised in Quincy, Illinois.  She graduated from Quincy High School in 1939.  She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Chutch, membership chairman of the Sidney Art Gallery, a member of the Ann Wilson Guild of Children's Hospital, on the Board of Kitsap Diversion Program, President of the Renter's Association, South Kitsap Republican Women, State and National Federation of Republican Women, worked campaigns for numerous candidates, was a president and past president of the Eagles Auxillary, and precinct committee person for many years. She is survived by her sons; Michael Gastineau of Allyn, WA., James Gastineau of Port Orchard, WA., daughters; Sandra Stites of Allyn, WA., Susan Ellingsons of Allyn, WA., brother John H. Kelker, of Naples, FL., sister Joann Mester of Quincy, IL., 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Edward, Thomas and James and her husband Gerald Gastineau.  Funeral services will be held Sept. 13, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Pendleton Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, WA.  Interment will be at  Sunset Lane Cemetery, Sept. 13, 1999 at 1:00 p.m.  Visitaiton will be at Rill Chapel Sept. 11, 1999 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, and Sept. 13, 1999 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
