Mary Lucas

April 24, 1924 — October 18, 2011

Mary Mosetta (Worrell) Lucas began her life in Vincentown, New Jersey.  She graduated from Mt. Holly high school and married James Alfred Lucas of Pemberton in 1946. Mary helped to support her family by working at the Mt. Holly First Presbyterian church and the Mt. Holly Herald newspaper, and retired in 1998 from the New Jersey state New Lisbon Developmental Center. She loved music, travel, family and small animals (especially cats). In 2005 Mary moved to Bremerton, WA to be near her son and his family.  Mary passed away after over 4 years of exceptional, watchful care from the staff at what became her Bremerton home at Foster Meadows and Central Kitsap Adult Family homes. She is survived by her son James Lucas Jr. (Jan), seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, her sister Ethel Worrell of Florida and her brother James Worrell of Southampton, NJ. She is preceded in death by her husband, daughters Jane Parker and Judy Rader, sisters Ella Worrell, Susan Smith, and LonaWestefeld. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband in Jacobstown, NJ.
