Mary Nelson

Mary Louise Nelson of Port Orchard, Washington died at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on December 15, 2004. He was 71. Mary was born July 2, 1933 in Bath, New York to Clifford Milton Sr. and Ella Mae (Bacon) Orr. She married Verne E. Nelson June 7, 1975 in Port Orchard, Washington. Mary graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington; and graduated from Nursing School in San Diego, California. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Washington State Veterans Home at Retsil for 26 years (November 14, 1970 and retiring February 29, 1996). Mary enjoyed painting ceramics, gardening, reading novels, Bible study, camping and caring for her animals. Mary was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Port Orchard. She is survived by her husband - Verne E. Nelson of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; sons - Rick L. Waye (& wife, Ellen) of Port Orchard, Mark E. Waye (& fiance' Jennifer Fontenot) of Port Orchard, Russ Nelson ( wife, Jackie) of Bellingham, Washington, Wayne Nelson (& wife, Kim) of Gig Harbor, Washington; daughters - Linda McCaslin (& husband, Russ) of Aberdeen, Washington, Karen Young (& husband, Fred) of Spokane, Washington; brothers - Merton Bacon (& wife, Kathy) of Elmira, New York, Clifford Orr (& wife, Peggy) of Yakima, Washington, Phil Carr(& wife, Monnievee) of Port Orchard, Washington; sisters - Linda McDaniels (& husband, bill) of Ellenboro, North Carolina, Carol Middleton (& husband, Tom) of Seattle, Washington; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Port Orchard, at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, December 21, 2004. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bremerton, Washington.
