Mary Simpson

Mary Elizabeth Simpson, 76, died at her home in Port Orchard, Washington on May 19, 2000. She was born November 1, 1923 in Tacoma, Washington to John and Mary (Porter) Owens. Mary attended Stadium High School in Tacoma, Washington. She married David Simpson on October 18, 1946 in Tacoma, Washington.Mrs. Simpson was a 40 year member of First Lutheran Church, she received the Golden Acorn Award for PTA, and a volunteer for 39 years with T.C. Baldwin Orthopedic Guild.Surviving are her husband David Simpson; sons Dennis of Bremerton and Gary of Port Orchard; daughter Colleen Simpson of Seattle; brother John Owens of Milton; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24th 9am to 5pmand 6pm to 8pm at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington.Funeral Services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard at 11:00am Thursday May 25th with internment at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.Memorial donations may be made to First Lutheran Church and Hospice of Kitsap County.
