Marylin Kennedy

January 24, 1936 — July 22, 2010

Marylin J. Kennedy, 74, died at her home in Port Orchard on July 22, 2010.  She was born January 24, 1936 in Tatum, New Mexico to Frank Harris & Lexie (Hall) Desonia.  She attended Lovington High School in Lovington, New Mexico. She married John R. Kennedy who preceded her in death. Marylin owned and operated the Hobby Patch in Bremerton for 15 years, retiring in 1982.  She also worked as an office manager & bookkeeper for Harbour Development Company in Huntington Beach, California.   Marylin worked with senior citizens at Leisure World, taught dancing at the blind center, and arranged programs for the disabled through the USO and Sunrise Hospital.  She also supported various food ministries.  She loved her dogs "Rosie, Happy & Naomi" - all rescues, and enjoyed painting, dancing and reading.  She was a Bible scholar. Surviving are mother Lexie Desonia; sister Sadie Gardner of Gainesville, TX; and nieces & nephews Trudy Huskey, Vickie Clawson, Kim Teas, Terry Teas & Christie Levesque, Cynthia Gould, James Huskey, William Huskey and their children.  Memorial service at 11:00 am, Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
