Mathew C. Kogan, 59 of Retsil, Washington died at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington on December 28, 2005. He was born on December 9, 1946 in Ely, Nevada to Joseph and Delsa (Gardner) Kogan. He graduated from Kennewick Sr. High School in Kennewick, Washington in 1965. Mathew worked as a Nuclear Inspection Technician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton for 15 years. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam war as a Corpsman, 2nd Class earning the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and National Defense Medal. Mathew enjoyed reading. He also liked building and riding three wheelers and was a member of the A.B.A.T.E. motorcycle club. He was President of the Retsil Resident Council and previously served as a committee member. Mathew was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Surviving are brothers William of Lund, Nevada, Joseph of Prescott, Arizona, James of Marana, Arizona, and Thomas of Richland, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great neices and nephews. Memorial service will be at Retsil Chapel at the Washington State Veterans Home at Retsil on Monday, January 2, 2006 at 1:00 pm.
