Maurita M. Ross

Maurita Ross died on Dec. 11, 2012 at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard. She was born in Stanley, WI on March 25, 1934, and moved to Troutdale, Oregon with her family when she was in the 4th grade. She remained there until her marriage to Clifford Brandt. They moved to the Washington, D.C. area and returned to Bremerton where their four children were born.
Maurita lived in Tacoma, WA around 18 years. Her greatest accomplishment was working for the GCA&BK Funeral Home where she was a Grief Counselor, heading up the Acquainted With Grief Support group. She also established the Bereaved Family Support Group at Life Center Church in Tacoma, which she did for several years. She also began the Grief Support Group at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
Maurita returned to Port Orchard in 1989 and was a real estate associate, receiving her GRI and ABR Realtor designations. She retired her real estate license from John L. Scott in the year 2000.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dan Brandt; her Mother and Dad; a sister, June; and two brothers, Carl and Stephen. She is survived by her sons, Clifford (Carol) and Tom Brandt; a daughter, Karen McGee (Paul); five granddaughters, Loriana, Danielle, Tristan, Nicole, and Megan; along with five great grandchildren, Hailie, Bella, James, Aspyn, and Gwyneth.
Services will be at Rill’s Life Tribute Center, on Wed., Dec. 19th at 2 p.m. Interment next to her son, Dan Brandt, at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, shall be private.
