Mr. Max T. Killinger, Age: 78, resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died on October 25, 2001 due to complications of Lung Cancer.He was born on May 6, 1923, in Redfield, South Dakota to Charles B. and Theora(Upchurch) Killinger.Max served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II from 1943 until 1945. On December 28, 1970, in Kennewick, Washington, Max married Lavina Belle Forester.Max served his career as a Machinist, working in Hanford, Washington, and Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. He retired in 1985 after 44 years.Max and his wife, ''Belle'', enjoyed traveling, and were members of the Port Orchard Yacht Club. He was a member of the Christian faith.He is survived by his wife, ''Belle'' of the family home; two sons, Robert of Woodenville, Washington, and Kim of Tacoma, Washington; daughters, Alicia Sanders of Payette, Idaho; and Vicki Hadley of Washington; brother, Charles ''Buck'' Killinger of Grapeview, Washington; four grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Karl, and a brother, John.A memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., at Sunset Lane Cemetery, in Port Orchard; Pastor Tom Forester will officiate. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at Rill Chapel, with Pastor Jamie Walker officiating. A reception will be held immediately afterward at Rill Chapel, followed by a gathering at the family home.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
