Max E. Meigs, 74, died at his home in Port Orchard on April 5, 2007. He was born September 26, 1932 in Fredonia, KS to Clifford & Ida (Yates) Meigs. He served as Fire Chief in Bremerton, retiring in 1979. Max loved his family and was a Go-To-Guy for advice. He enjoyed cooking, eating apple pies, and gardening. Surviving are wife Mary of 15 years; children David (Darla) Meigs of Seabeck, Dan Meigs of AZ, Cindy Landry of Manchester, Tamara (Mike) Harlow of Silverdale, LaDona (Steve) Harmon of Seabeck, Nellianna Anthony of LA, Sara Meigs of Poulsbo, Gavin Meigs, Alyssa Meigs, Meghan Meigs, all of Port Orchard; sisters Euphemia Knox, Freda Spain, Phyllis (Art) Cook, all of Port Orchard, and Mabel Rainey of Bothell; brothers Chester (Gladys) Meigs, Kenneth Meigs, and Clifford Meigs, all of Bremerton, and Charles (Dena) Meigs of Belfair; numerous grandchildren & great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law Adrian Vander Vate, of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by son Max & brothers Clifford, Jr. and Bill. Services Monday, April 23th, 2PM, at Rill's Life Tribute Center, Port Orchard.
