Maxine Hester

Maxine Hester, 81, of Bremerton, died October 3, 2002 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Wa. She was born December 22, 1920 in Renton, Washington to Jesse & Hazel (Rowe) McCowin.She attended Renton high school and graduated in 1939. On February 26, 1955 she married Donald Hester in Belfair, Washington. She was an EducationalAide for the Bremerton school district and a Homemaker.Memberships include the Sons of Norway, Lady Elks, Eagles Auxillary and Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bremerton. She was a Volunteer at the Harrison Hospital gift shop and a treasurer for the National Cory Family Society. She enjoyed traveling with RV clubs, reading, dancing, and entertaining friends & family.Survivors include her husband- Donald Hester of Bremerton; 2 daughters- Marlene (Sommerfield) Noll of Gig Harbor and Shirley Sommerfield of Bremerton; a son- Mark Hester of Renton, Wa; a sister Sharon (Olson) Cook of Bremerton; 4 Grandchildren Tino & Jennifer DeLaRosa of Gig Harbor, Adam & Alex Hester of Renton and a Great Grandchild Griffin DeLaRosa of Gig Harbor. She was preceded in death by a sister LorAine Harden.Public viewing will be 10am-5pm Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at Rill Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:30pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2002 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bremerton. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bremerton. Memorials can be sent to a charity of choice.
