Maxine Madsen, at the age of 94, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017 at the Cottage in Bremerton, WA. She was born on December 26, 1922 in Sandpoint, ID to Max and Fern Langsdorf. She was preceded in death by brothers Ted Langsdorf, Robert Langsdorf and sister, Teresa (Pat) Brewitt, her husband Fred, their daughter Pam Bailey. Maxine married Ed Wilbur in 1946. They were later divorced and she remarried Elmer Madsen in 1980. Elmer passed away in 1995.
Maxine loved working with her flowers outside in the garden and going on her morning walks. She also enjoyed bowling and playing golf. She was a member of Kitsap Golf & Country Club for many years. One of her fondest memories was hitting a hole-in-one. Most of all, Maxine loved to spend quality time with her family.
Surviving her are her son, Gary Wilbur of Mesquite, NV and daughter Jan (Wilbur) Hauschel, her husband Ted of Belfair, WA. Her stepdaughters Janice Benson, Norma Jean Madsen and their families. Maxine also left behind her grandchildren Jackie (Wilbur) Saati and her son Devon Speitzer. Brian Hauschel, wife Angie and their daughter Brielle. Tana (Hauschel) Siler, husband Mike and their 3 children McKenna, Colton and Payton. All of whom she loved very much.
At her request no formal service will be held. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
