May J. Tuenge, 84, died at her home in Port Orchard, Washington on April 5, 2002. She was born on October 1, 1917 in Richey, Montana to Walter Arthur & Amanda Mabel (Mathieson) Telford. She attended Silverdale High School in Silverdale, Washington. May married Samuel P. Bering on July 2, 1935 in Port Orchard. Mr. Bering preceded her in death in 1978. On June 4, 1983 in Port Orchard, she married her second husband Otto (Bud) Tuenge who also preceded her in death in 1994.Mrs. Tuenge was a homemaker and worked for 20 years as a Playroom Attendant at the Hi Joy Bowl in Port Orchard. She was a member of the Eagles Auxillary 2338 in Port Orchard. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and traveling to Hong Kong, Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska.Surviving are sons Samuel P. Bering, Jr. of Port Orchard, Harry A. Bering of Tacoma, Washington, Bobby L. Bering of Albion, Indiana, and Gerry D. Bering of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters Dorothy M. Rhines of Tacoma, Kathleen B. Fox of Bellingham, Washington, Ilene J. Hawley of Port Orchard, and Judy E. Patton of Port Orchard; sister Anne Matthieson of Wenatchee, Washington; 46 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers George & Arthur Telford, and sisters Ruby Stephens & Jule Vance.Visitation will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Thursday, April 11, 2002 from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Friday, April 12, 2002 from 9:00am until 2:00pm. Funeral Service will be on Friday, April 12, 2002 at 2:00pm at Rill Chapel followed by interment at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.
