Melvin R. Price, 77 of Port Orchard, died on November 13, 1999.  He was born on August 26, 1922 in North Miami, Oklahoma to Fred & Gertrude (Allhouse) Price.  Melvin was raised in Commerce, Oklahoma and graduated from Commerce High School in 1941.  He married Mildred M. Hart on June 16, 1944 in Commerce.  She preceded him in death in 1998.Mr. Price worked as a Blocker & Bracer at Naval Subase Bangor.  He also worked as an Evergreen Harvester and Mink Rancher for 20 years.  Melvin served in the U. S. Army during World War II from 1942 to 1943 with the 84th Infantry, 1885th Service Division.  He was a member of the Order of Free & Accepted Masons, Lodge #98 in Port Orchard, the Port Orchard Chapter 44 Order of Eastern Star, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans.Surviving are son David Price of Port Orchard; daughter Melvadene Gabrilski of Tacoma; brother Floyd Price of Gold Run, California; and grandson James Natland of Port Orchard.Visitation will be on Thursday, November 18, 1999 from 9am to 5pm at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.  A Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard on Friday, November 19, 1999 at 1:30pm.
