Mr. Mervin L. Hall died on August 15, 2001, at his residence in Port Orchard, Washington. He was 82 years old.Mr. Hall was born on February 16, 1919 in Seattle, Washington to Grover and Isabelle Hall.The family moved to the Port Orchard area and Mervin graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1937.He joined the United States Army Air Force in 1942. He spent two years with the 13th Air Force, stationed in the South Pacific. He achieved the rank of Tech Sergeant before he was honorably discharged in 1945.On April 10, 1942, Mervin married Billie B. Hazard in Port Angeles, Washington. She preceded him in death in 1991. He later married Genevieve Pisel in Port Orchard, Washington.Mr. Hall was a Teacher at South Kitsap High School for thirty years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows 145, Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks(BPOE) 1181, and Veterans of Foriegn Wars(VFW)2669.Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Genevieve; two sons, Gerald of Bremerton, Washington, Kenneth of Tacoma, Washington; two daughers, Toni Banning of Redmond, Washington, and Karen Chapman of Port Orchard. He also has one brother, Donald of Lynnwood; one sister, Doris Winter of Albany, Oregon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Leroy.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, August 21st and 22nd, 2001 at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on August 25, 2001, also at Rill Chapel. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
