Mervyn B. Anderson died June 20, 2002 in Seattle, WA. He was 59.He was born June 20, 1943 in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, to the Rev. Magnus and Evelyn (Hegge) Anderson. He graduated from Modesto High School in Modesto, California in 1961.He later attended Modesto Junior College, Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, California and Palomar College in Southern California.He met Patricia "Trish" Carson when they were counselors at Mount Cross Bible Camp in Felton, California. The couple married on August 9, 1964, in Santa Clara, California.Raised in the Lutheran church, Mr. Anderson became an independent minister and evangelist, serving churches in the Tri-Cities, Ann Arbor, Mich., and Hamar, Norway. He and his wife had studied together at the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle.He enjoyed the mountains, rock climbing, hiking, swimming, sailing, photography and painting. His great devotion to his Lord far exceeded these interests. Survivers include his wife; his parents, now of Turlock, CA.; two sons, Peter Anderson of Tucson, AZ., and Nathan Anderson of Caltaldo, ID., and Port Orchard; a daughter; Andrea Kamacho of Mountlake Terrace, WA.; a brother, Wayne Anderson of Navato, CA., and three grandchildren, Ashley, Faith and Noah. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Cassellius.A funeral service will be held Thursday June 27, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Family Church of God (Gorst). Interment will be at the Fraola Cemetery in Olalla, WA.
