Michael O'Shea

Michael Patrick Goddard O'Shea of Port Orchard, Washington died of Alzheimers at Retsil Veteran's Home on September 25, 2006. He was born December 27, 1919 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska to Earl R. Goddard and Catharine (Rogers) Goddard. He married Marilyn (Izold) O'Shea-Kirchner in 1964 in Seligman, Arizona. Michael graduated from high school in Colorado. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain's Mate 2nd class. He was a World War II Veteran serving in South Sea and survived 2 sunken ships in 2 days. Michael retired as a retired Chef who worked in Litchfield Park, Arizona, Oceanside, California and other places. He was creative, specializing in prime rib, lasagna, holiday feasts, and entertaining for large parties. He also retired with Gates Rubber Company. Michael enjoyed golf; was a loyal friend and a generous wanderer. Surviving are son Michael; daughters Catharine, Molly Lott of Vashon Island, Washington, Kelly Robinson of Branson, Missosuri; step-children Linda, Kathy, Eddie and Dennis; grandchildren Stephen Leonard, Lily Lott, Tawny Robinson and Dylan Robinson; and all of the loving staff at Retsil Veteran's Home. Michael was preceded in death by son Patrick. A Memorial Mass will be held at Retsil Chapel on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. A Graveside service wil be held at Retsil Cemetery on Friday, September 29, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars post of choice.
