Michael Paul Scheitlin

Michael Scheitlin passed away unexpectedly on March 23 in his sleep at the age of 43.

Micahel was born on March 23, 1978 in Miles City and grew up in Glendive Montana. As a young adult, he lived in many places including New York, Florida, and North Dakota.

While serving in the Navy, Michael was stationed at Bangor. He met and married the love of his life, Erika, in Bremerton. They have four children, Autumn, Quentin, Piper, and Shae who were the pride and joy of his life. After 5 years serving in the United States Navy, Mike was medically separated. He and his family moved to North Dakota for a while, where he attended Dickinson State University.

In late 2008, Mike and his family moved back to Washington living shortly in Bremerton, and Poulsbo, before finally settling in Port Orchard in 2010. He held a variety of jobs, including a meat cutter, roustabout, car salesman, and more recently an accountant for Brad Orser, CPA.

Helping the youth in the community was a passion of Micahel’s. He enjoyed volunteering in many different youth organizations in the community. He served on both the SKELL and SKSC boards. He was a long time cookie dad for all three of his daughters’ Girl Scout troops. He was also an active volunteer and chaperone for many youth mission trips at St Gabriel Parish. No matter who the child was, Mike treated them like his own. His true passion was coaching his son’s little league baseball team.

Michael was preceded in death by his brother Ryan Treadway. Micahel was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Erika, his children Autumn, Quentin, Piper, and Shae, and their goldendoodle, Noodle. He is also survived by his parents Joe and Carol McNaney (North Dakota), his brother Nathan McNaney (North Dakota), and his sisters Shawna (North Dakota), Diana (South Dakota), and Shaunna (Oregon).
