Mickael (Mike) Lee Schillereff (August 15, 1947-February 21, 2015)
Mickael (Mike) Lee Schillereff (67) passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 21, 2015. A longtime resident of Port Orchard, WA, the Patriarch of a tight-knit family, Mike was known for his unwavering work ethic, quick-laugh, grounded demeanor and loving heart. The beloved and devoted Husband of over thirty years to Judy Schillereff, Mike was the proud and supportive father of Andrew Schillereff, Adam Rath Schillereff, MSG Joshua Schillereff (wife Nicole) and Debby Hambrick. Mike was always involved in their daily lives, celebrations of milestones and accomplishments and was equally as reliable, giving, selfless and stalwart in times of need. Mike’s truest joy and favorite title was Grandpa; adoring, fun loving and dedicated, Mike’s Granddaughter Kylie, and Grandson, Joshua Schillereff brought true radiance, happiness and light to his life.
The Son of Elmer (deceased) and still living, Mother Betty Schillereff, both longtime residents of Wenatchee, WA, Mike was born in Seattle, WA on Aug 15, 1947. He was the close brother of Christine Schillereff and Patricia (spouse, Fred) Waunch and committed friend and Uncle of Rick Stillwaugh (wife Tammy and children, Alex, Jacob and Hannah.)
Mike enjoyed his last few years of retirement by barbequing with family, collecting rare and antique firearms, study of history and World War II as well as camping, visiting the casino and playing daily rounds of cribbage and other board games with his wife and sons.
Mike graduated from Twisp High School in Twisp, WA., where his Mother and Father owned and ran their own grocery store. A hard-worker, he went into the family business, studying as a butcher and meat cutter from the age of 17. His career continued in the grocery industry where he was a long time department manager and meat cutter for both Albertsons (Wenatchee) and Safeway stores (Port Orchard & Bremerton, WA) where he made dear and longtime friends with both customers and coworkers.
Mike is preceded in death by his Father (Elmer Schillereff) as well as both of his Maternal Grandparents, (Henry & Tina Weber) and Paternal Grandparents, (John & Elizabeth Schillereff.) Mike Schillereff’s memorial is open to friends and family and is scheduled for Sunday, March 01 at 1:00 PM.
