Milford Westhaver

Milford E. Westhaver died August 5, 2003 of natural causes in Bremerton, Washington. He was 73.He was born in Trail, British Columbia, Canada on March 23, 1930 to Otto P. and Hazel (Bell) Westhaver.Milford married June (Vahle) Westhaver on August 23, 1952 in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho.He graduated from Trail High School of Trail, British Columbia, Canada in 1949; and, attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington.He worked for Cominco in Trail, BC at the smelter for 4 years and the Blue Bell Mine for 2 years. Milford also worked 30 years for Puget Sound Power and Light starting as a meter reader and working his way into management - retiring in 1995.He immigrated and became naturalized in 1955. He was very proud of his American citizenship and his Canadian heritage. He enjoyed working with geneology. He was a member of the Lions Club and Elks Club; was past president of Consumer Credit Union, Masonic Lodge of Kirkland, Deep Bay Yacht Club of BC; loved woodworking, boating and fishing. He built 3 boats and a summer home on Vancouver Island. He loved Welsh Corgi dogs.Milford was a Protestant.He is survived by his wife, June (Vahle) Westhaver of the Bremerton, Washington family home; son - David Westhaver of Bellevue, Washington; daughters - Carol Coleman (& husband, Mark) of Tonasket, Washington; Donna Lutes (& husband, Robert) of Bremerton, Washington; Mary Marchand (& husband, William) of Maui, Hawaii; brothers - Barry Westhaver (& and wife, Marina) of Victoria, BC; Donald Westhaver of Oracle, Arizona; sister - Marylin Frew of Trail, BC.; 7 grandchildren: Sean, Katie and Colleen Coleman; Wesley, Amy, Michele and Ryann Lutes; and, 5 great-grandchildren.A family memorial service will be held at Deep Bay, BC August of 2004.
