Milow Haugen

May 21, 1931 — October 23, 2008

Milow O. Haugen, 77 of Port Orchard died in Bremerton October 23, 2008.  He was born May 21, 1931 in Peken, North Dakota to Olie & Alfa (Orvick) Haugen.  He graduated from high school in Kittitas County, Washington.  He married Louise Nichols in Belfair, Washington in 1974. Milow worked as a Machinist for Boeing , Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, and NUWC in Keport, Washington.  He also served in the Army National Guard.  He enjoyed traveling & family gatherings.  He was a member of Christian Life Center Church in Port Orchard. Surviving are his wife Louise; sons Bruce (Sandy) Haugen of Algona, Washington and Jay (Patty) Haugen of Idaho; daughters Jeanette (Mike) Wynn of Vancouver, Washington, Laura Lyn Grade of Port Orchard, Julie (Tom) Boardman of Gig Harbor, Sharon (Bud) Martin of Belfair, and Sheila (Steve) Turner of Juneau, Alaska; brother Maynard (Eleanor) Haugen of Illinois; sister Shirley (Cecil) Cotteral of Kennewick, Washington; 17 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by brothers Hillman & Obert Haugen. Memorial service at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Christian Life Center in Port Orchard with inurnment  at Sunset Lane Memorial Park at 3:00 pm. Memorial donations  to the American Cancer Society.
