Minerva Hawkins

Minerva Hawkins, 93, a resident of Port Orchard, died March 22, 2011 of natural causes at Belmont Terrace in Bremerton. She was born July 25, 1917 in Springfield, VA to Archie and Clara (Javens) Young. She married Robert C. Hawkins on October 14, 1933 in Arlington, VA and he preceded her in death in 1980. She was a proud homemaker and mom that enjoyed all types of gardening, especially roses, but most of all loved her family. She is survived by her son Ron Hawkins; daughters Frances Jones (Don), Clara Ann Clark, Shirley Hawkins, Crystal Johnson (Mike); brothers Darwin Young and Melvin Young both of Virginia; 21 Grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by Robert Hawkins, Jr., Raymond Hawkins and Ralph Hawkins, 7 grandsons, 1 grand daughter and 1 great-grandson. There will be visitation on Monday March 28 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm immediately both at Rill’s Life Tribute Center followed by Interment at Sunset lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
