Muriel J. Workman died October 22, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. She was 63.She was born August 29, 1940 in Ortonville, Minnesota to Percy and Muriel (Collette) Matteson.She graduated from South Kitsap Senior High in Port Orchard, Washington in 1959; and, attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.Muriel married William L. "Bill" Workman in Port Orchard, Washington May 29, 1969.She was a homemaker.Muriel was number one, a loving wife and mother; was a 4-H Assistant Dairy Superintendent; raised and showed award winning "Teddy" Guinea Pigs and award winning Jersey cows; loved baking and won best of show for her bread twice at the Kitsap County Fair. She also loved gardening and sewing.She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Port Orchard.Muriel is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Workman, of the Port Orchard, Washington home; daughter - Debora Workman; sisters - Jackie Gilman (& husband, Gordon) of Port Orchard, Beverly Port (& husband, Paul) of Port Orchard, Margaret Dyer (twin sister) - also of Port Orchard; and numerous nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on October 28, 2003 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.Interment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, also in Port Orchard, at 1:45 p.m. on October 28, 2003.Memorial Donations may be made to:Muriel Workman Cancer Education FundHarrison Hospital Foundation2520 Cherry AvenueBremerton, WA 98310
