Nancy was born to Ivan and Carol Frederick on April 3rd 1962 in Auburn Washington. She was raised with her sister Janelle and brother Douglas.
When Nancy was 10 the family left the city and moved out to Port Orchard. Nancy had dreams of raising and showing horses and they were about to come true. She told me so many great stories about all the adventures she had with all her close friends growing up with her in Port Orchard. Janice, Leshirl, Cathy, Bobby, Julie and Linda are just a few of the friends that Nancy was close to. She was a very bright girl. An accomplished Artist and writer. She graduated from South Kitsap Highschool in 1980.
Nancy was hooked on horses at a young age. I met her when she was 18 and I was hooked too and I don’t mean on horses. I didn’t know one end of a horse from another and she did everything she could to change that.
In 1984 we brought 4 acres of raw land just before we got married and we built a small a horse farm. I was able to procure lumber from my place of employment for numerous out buildings and a barn and we collected old telephone poles to cut and split for the pasture fences. We loved the farm life and each other.
Nancy was going to community college and studying to be a vet assistant. Unfortunately, that did not work out and she went to work for my father at his hearing aid office in Tacoma. This is where she shined! She worked very hard at whatever she did. A perfectionist. She was so happy working with Dad and especially Natalie Vierra. She really loved Natalie. We used to laugh at all of the stories of simple things she experienced at that office. She was a real kick in the pants. When I started my business in 1992 Nancy decided to stay home and take care of the place and the critters. It made us happy that we were able to do that.
A few years later came the miracle of Patrick Robbyn! Nancy took so much care and gave so much love to our son’s upbringing. It was now the most important thing in her life.
The next 20 years are what make a life. We were so blessed with Robbyn and what his presence did for our marriage and life. A true blessing.
We will always honor and remember Nancy Gayle and all the sunshine she brought to our life and I can say the same for anyone who knew her well.
Thank you all (you all know who you are) for all of your support and prayers during my time with my love and my best friend. Family and friends are the key to a successful life. I love you always Nance.
