Neal James Scott

Neal was so many things to so many people—brother, son, friend, big bird, gamer, gear head—above all, a sensitive and gentle soul who won many friends with his kindness.

Neal loved boating and snowmobiling with his dad and brother, summer trips to Silverwood Theme Park with his mom and stepdad. His hobbies included working on his truck, camping, motorcycle riding, and spending as much time as possible with his friends.

As parents, we did what we could to help Neal become a happy, responsible, caring young man. We are very proud of who he was—an upstanding young gentleman, kind to others, and not afraid of hard work.

He worked very hard one summer to earn his first truck, a little yellow Toyota. It had been sitting for a few years, and the owner told him if he could make it run and help around the shop, the truck was his. He made it run, loved it for a while, sold it for a profit, then used that money to buy the 1963 Chevy pickup everyone knows him by now.

His most recent achievement was working his way up to the honor of being a Sentinel in the South Kitsap chapter of FFA. His duties included assisting the president in maintaining order; maintaining the meeting room, equipment, and supplies; welcoming visitors; and taking charge of candidates for degree ceremonies.

Nothing can fill the void he left behind, but we can let memories of his smile lift us up and pass on his legacy of being a friend to others.
