Neil Greenberg (75) formally of Appleton WI passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, in Gig Harbor, WA. Neil was born November 30, 1948, in Rockford, IL to Ralph and Adaline Greenberg. He spent his childhood and teenage years in Rockford. After graduating high school, he attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL., where he earned his BA in business. He then went on to further his education at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL where he earned his MBA and started his career as a CPA. He worked for various firms and businesses throughout IL, MN, and WI. He retired from Presto Products in Appleton, WI in 2015 after 25 years of service.
He enlisted in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.
Neil met Elaine Bregar in Peoria, IL while they both were attending college. They fell in love and married June 27, 1970 in Joliet, IL. They started a family complete with their only child Karen. As a family, they loved outdoor activities such as camping, boating and water sports. Being a kind and dependable father was of the utmost importance to Neil, and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family,
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Dennis, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Survived by his wife Elaine of nearly 54 years (Gig Harbor, WA). Daughter Karen Schiavo (Seattle), grandchildren Nathan and Allie Schiavo (Seattle), Sister-in-law Margarita Greenberg (Rockford), brothers Barry (Kathy) Rockford, Brian (Traci) Port Orange, FL, Brother-in law Leonard (Geraldine) Morris IL, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. One cousin Kay Nordmark AZ.
Interment will be on April 20, 2024 at 1pm at Scandinavian Cemetery in Rockford, IL. Luncheon to follow.
