Nellie Bean

Nellie Loleta Bean, 99 of Port Orchard, died in Bremerton on August 23, 2009.  She was born October 22, 1909 in Binghampton, New York to Harry & Elizabeth (Tisdell) Wells.  She graduated from Whittier High School in California. Nellie was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, crocheting, bridge & playing with her great-grandchildren.  She was a member of the Garden Club, Monday Club in San Luis Obispo, CA and Daughters of American Revolution (DAR).  She was a member of the Methodist Church and sang in the church choir for 40 years.  Surviving are son Richard (Bonnie) Bean of La Mirada, CA, daughter Charlotte (Leonard) Vaughan of Port Orchard; grandchildren Kerry Clark, Kristy Lima, Kirk Vaughan, Katy Johnson, Tim Bean, Tammy Wendler & Tom Bean; great-grandchildren Danny, Ranae, Stacey, Mallory, Trevor, Caitlin, Kelsey, Lauren, Sarah, Rachel, Michael & Anthony. Celebration at McCormick Woods Clubhouse is pending.  Interment will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, CA.  Memorial donations to charity of choice.
