Nellie Mae Royer, 90, died at Life Care Center of Port Orchard, Washington on October 20, 2007. She was born June 23, 1917 in Omaha, Texas to William & Minnie (Smith) Wheat. She grew up in Hialeh, Flordia and married Leonard L. Royer on October 25, 1941 in St. Cloud, Florida. Leonard preceded her in death in 1991. Nellie worked as a Registered Nurse after graduating from Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Miami, Florida in 1938. She was a member of the Eastern Star. Being a Navy wife, Nellie liked to travel. She enjoyed gardening & spending time with her family. Nellie was known as the "Jigsaw Puzzle Queen" at Crista Shores. Surviving are daughters Mary (Babe) Kaltenborn of Manchester, Washington and Patricia Smith of Durham, North Carolina; grandchildren Kari Lee Kaltenborn of Redondo Beach, California and Brent (Leslie) Guertin of Nuevo, California; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by son Leonard Royer, Jr. & sister Mattie Lee Hillstead.
