Newell Clauson

Newell F. Clauson, 93, died at his residence in Port Orchard, Washington on March 11, 2001. He was born on February 12, 1908 in Kiron, Iowa to Edward & Anna (Lundberg) Clauson. Newell graduated from Kiron High School. He married Julia Lindstrom who preceded him in death in 1974 and Ruth Wallace who preceded him in 1989.Mr. Clauson worked as an Accountant for Howe Ford in Port Orchard and Bennett Ford in Bremerton, Washington. He enjoyed his family and church activities.Surviving are son Edward Clauson of Port Orchard; daughters Gwen Wells of Port Orchard and Dorothy Wells of Graham, Washington; brother Lowell Clauson of Denison, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Ralph & Stanley, and sister Bernice.Visitation will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Thursday, March 15th from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Friday, March 16th from 9:00am to 10:00am. Graveside Service will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard on Friday, March 16, 2001 at 11:00am followed by a Memorial Service at Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene at 1:00pm.
