Nicholas Angelo Marcucci

April 9, 1954 — August 17, 2022

Nicholas Angelo Marcucci took off his Coat of Mortality on August 17, 2022. He was born April 9, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Nicholas Edward Marcucci and Dorothy Marie Hutchison. On completion of high school in Butler, Pennsylvania he joined the United States Air Force. After completing basic training, he was stationed in Florida at Eglin Air Force Base and then he moved to Camp Darby, Italy for two years. When his duty assignment at Camp Darby was over, he was sent to Hill Air Force Base in Utah where he met his future wife, Kathleen on the ski slopes of Alta. They married August 31, 1978. Two years later Nick was transferred to RAF Welford in England and his wife followed upon receipt of orders. After four years, Nick was reassigned to Camp Darby. Upon leaving Camp Darby he returned to England for five years and worked at RAF Upper Heyford. His final duty station was Edwards Air Force Base in California. Nick honorably retired from the United States Air Force after twenty years of service in 1993.

Nick was sealed for time and all eternity to his wife and children in the Ogden Temple August 31, 1979. He was a faithful husband and a loving father. He loved to garden and decided to take UW Master Gardener classes. He was a great storyteller and was always pulling your leg with a smile on his face. He loved to cook and would volunteer every year at girl’s camp while his girls were in Young Women’s. His children have all formed a special bond of love with him that will last for eternity.

Nick worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for twenty-two years as a telephone repairman and as an electrician. His skills were very helpful at home when we had electrical projects that needed to be completed. He also had the opportunity to work with one of his daughters which created a special bond between them. He was really great at puzzles and working with his hands. One project that he worked on was restoring a 1971 Ford F-100 truck to running condition. He was also great at storing items and his daughter joked that she will knock on his casket to ask where tomato soup is in the Everything Room.

Nicholas is survived by his wife Kathleen Marcucci, his son Nathan A. (Amanda) Marcucci and his two granddaughters Evelyn J. Marcucci and Rebecca A. Marcucci. His daughters are Katie M. Marcucci, Ilaria N. Marcucci, Vanessa G. Olinger Marina E. Marcucci. He is also survived by his sisters Sophie Ryan, Mary Ann (Robert) Losser of Butler, Pennsylvania and Maxine (Darius) Montreal of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and his sister-in-law Deborah Marcucci-Wittmer of Butler, Pennsylvania. His brothers are Guy Marcucci (Elda Lopez) of Nashville, Tennessee and Richard (Cindy) Marcucci of Butler, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Dorothy Marcucci, his sister Margie Agnew, his brothers Angelo Marcucci, David Marcucci, Harold Marcucci, Danny Marcucci and his brother-in-law Frank Agnew and John Ryan.
