Nora Irene Hoover

Nora Irene Hoover, 97, of Port Orchard died at her residence May 8, 2013. Nora was born September 26, 1915 in Fergus County, Montana to Frank & Lillie (Reynolds) Cromer. She attended school in Buffalo, Montana. On March 26, 1935 she married Willard R. Hoover in Fergus County. Nora was a cook in the South Kitsap school district from the mid 1950's to the mid 1970's. She started at EPO elementary, moved to the high school and ended her career in the district's central kitchen. Nora & her husband Willard were instrumental in getting the Bethel Fire Department started, she was a life long member of the Port Orchard Church of Christ, loved gardening, needlework and was an excellent seamstress. Survivors include her daughter Helen "Len" (Les) Lewis , a son - Raymond R. (Linda) Hoover , a daughter-in-law Teresa Hoover, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grand children and 14 great great grandchildren. Nora was preceded in death by her husband Willard, a son Bill, one brother and one sister. Public viewing will be 5-7pm Tuesday at Rill's Life Tribute Center. A Memorial Service will be 6pm Wednesday at Port Orchard Church of Christ. Private Interment will be at Fraola Cemetery.
