Norma Gayle Brady

November 19, 1927 — November 15, 2018

On November 15, Norma Brady passed away peacefully in her sleep and is with her beloved husband, Gene. Norma was an adoring wife and loving mother to Wendy and Sharron and granddaughter Emma House. She led an amazing life traveling globally supporting her husband’s service as a U.S.A.F. officer and diplomat. Although they formed many life-long friendships abroad, home was Manchester WA. Norma was a vital part of the community, generously supporting numerous fundraisers such as helping build and maintain the Manchester Library. She quietly touched and mentored many lives. She worked as a book keeper at the Ainsworth Grocery Store, and was a 1945 Annie Wright Graduate, 1949 U of W Graduate, president of the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle, Master Gardener, seamstress and rock hound extraordinaire.

She attended many Olympic Peninsula Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club meetings with Gene and graciously complemented his enthusiasm for the internal combustion engine.

One of the most important passions in Norma’s life was gardening. Gardeners are special people. She took great pride in sharing with others the joy of all things flowers. That being said - in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of the Manchester, WA Library.
Please share your memories of Norma below. This site will remain in perpetuity so that the fullness of Norma’s legacy can be fully expressed, not just at this time, but in the days and years to come.

But my trust is in thy mercy,
my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
I will sing of the Lord, because he hath dealt so lovingly with me;
Psalm 13, vs 5-6
