Norma Ann Martinez of Port Orchard, Washington died in Port Orchard due to natural causes on September 18, 2004. She was 77. She was born November 20, 1926 in Otter Creek, North Dakota to Michael and Margaret (Hagle) Brittner. She married I. Bernard "Bernie" Martinez April 20, 1964 in Reno, Nevada. Norma attended school through the 8th grade. She worked as a waitress for 35 years - retiring in 1985; and, worked for Imperial Manufacturing for 3 years. Norma loved outdoors, fishing, clamming, gardening, family gatherings and "loved" shopping. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Norma is survived by husband - Bernie Martinez of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; sons - William "Bill" Kirkland (& wife, Pamela) of Arizona; David Kirkland (& wife, Julie) of Everett, Washington; daughter - Joddie Collins (& husband, David) of Belfair, Washington; sisters - Margaret Bitto of Marysville, Washington, Monica Wood of Yakima; grandchildren (5): Bill Kirkland, Jr., Jake Kirkland, Amanda and Megan Shobe, Donny Kirkland; great-grandson (1): Cole Kirkland; and, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers - Mike Stark, Joseph Stark, Leo and John Brittner and by sisters - Rose Burks, Annie Enter, Jane Sampier, Betty Fritz, Edna Chubb. A visitation will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center on Wednesday and Thursday, September 22nd and 23rd from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard on September 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to: American Cancer Society 1551 Broadway, Ste. 200 Tacoma, WA 98402
