Norman Singer

November 12, 1927 — February 17, 2008

Norman Harold Singer was born on November 12, 1927 and passed away February 17, 2008. Norm was a licensed chiropractor and a naturopath. In many circles he was the "dean" of post-graduate education for chiropractors in Washington and was officially a Diplomate in Chiropractic Orthopedics. He was an active member of the Washington Chiropractors Association for 14 years, chairing the education committee for the WCA for several of those years. He also served on the Board for Western States Chiropractic College for a number of years. He married the love of his life, Selma, on September 29, 1957. Norm often said, "Marrying Selma was the best decision I ever made." They were truly devoted to one another, sharing interests, passions, and new adventures whenever they could. The hardest years of his life were these last four years, without her by his side. Norm loved classical music, was an avid reader, a lifetime learner and a "Renaissance man" in every way. He was a fine furniture builder, steel fabricator and welder, a machinist, and a master gardener. Norm was a caring family member and a special uncle to many nieces and nephews. A great niece knew him as "Gramps", a role that fit him naturally. Norm will be remembered for his scholarly knowledge, his extraordinary talents, and his common sense approach to life; but above all, his genuine, caring heart. Farewell Gathering at 11:00am on Monday, March 3, 2008 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.
