Opal Marie Wilson died November 17, 2003 at her residence in Southworth, Washington. She was 83. She was born November 6, 1920 in Rosepine, Louisiana to Charles and Minnie (Bell) Baker. She married Walter L. Wilson October 2, 1982 in Sequim, Washington. Opal graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Wasington in 1938. She worked as a beautician at Opal's Beauty Shop in Olalla from 1952 to 1963; and owned and operated "Small Fry Supply" children's clothing store in Port Orchard from 1953 to 1955. Opal enjoyed gardening and helping people by volunteering at ALIVE, battered women's shelter. She was an active member and attended the following churches in her life: Olalla Bible Church where she taught Sunday School for 14 years to youth, Neighborhood Alliance Church in Bremerton, First Christian Church in Port Orchard. Opal is survived by her husband - Walter Leon Wilson - of the Southworth, Washington family home; sons - Monte Mastick (& wife, Mary) of Shelton, Washington, Ron Mastick (& wife, Judy) of Grapeview, Washington, Rick Best (& wife, Cathy) of Olalla, Washington; step-daughter - Randi Goode (& husband, Dave) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; grandchildren (16): Leon Fox, Mark Mastick, Mary Long, Monica Stephenson, Matthew Mastick, Melody Osborne, Mianne Flores,Timmy Mastick, Randall Mastick, Rob Mastick, David Mastick, Diane Kohrs, Shelly Lincoln, Michael Best, Jason Best, David W. Goode; great-grandchildren (34). She was preceded in death by: first husband, Merrell Mastick, killed in action during WWII in 1945; second husband, Fredrick "Bob" Best, died in 1974; granddaughter - Michelle Deibert; great grandson - Michael Anthony Deibert; brother - Walter Baker; sisters - Vera Baker, Dorothy Walsh, Nina Schlittenhardt, Hazel Baker, Gladys Zink, Mildred McManus. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m on Thursday, November 20, 2003 at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2003 at the First Christian Church in Port Orchard, Washington.
