Otto J Snay

August 5, 1930 — April 27, 2016

Otto J. Snay was born August 5, 1930, in Mount Clemens, Michigan to Charles and Dollie (Klinefelter) Snay. The family moved to the Ohio area when Otto was a young child. In May of 1969, he married LeVena (Hansen) Snay.

Otto and LeVena then moved to Omaha Nebraska when Otto joined the Air Force in 1951. Otto served in the Korean, and Vietnam Wars. He retired as a Master Sargent from the Air Force in 1974. After retiring from the Air Force Otto worked for the PSNS Naval Base in the Warehouse where he later retired in April 1993.

Otto was a past commander of the VFW #2669 in Port Orchard Washington and also the past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2338 in Port Orchard Washington. Otto was a member of the First Baptist Church in Port Orchard Washington.

Otto passed away on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington attaining the age of 85 years old. Otto was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dollie Snay, his grandparents, and sister Sue Milene and son-in-law Lonnie Orduna. He is survived by wife LeVena; sister Ethel; son Gale Rockwell and wife Margaret; daughter Cindy Cary and husband Roger; daughter Debra Jones and husband Jay; daughter Dolly Siegfried and husband Ed, daughter Sue Orduna; son Charlie Snay and wife Juliet, daughter Jane Page and husband Kerry; and daughter Janice Ross and husband Steve and youngest daughter Cheryl Wood; numerous grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Port Orchard at 10:30 am. Following will be a graveside service at 1:30 pm at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
